ROMANTICISM IN GEORGE SAND COUNTRY (individual)

Descriptive

Gérard Gasquet is your host at the Château de la Vallée Bleue, a small 19th century manor house set amidst ten acres of English-style gardens where you can enjoy candlelit dinners on the terrace or beside the fire with Chopin's walkzes in the background. This old house, once the home of George Sand's doctor, is today dedicated to good eating and peaceful holidays in the middle of the undulating countryside of the Berry.

George Sand's and Chopin's portraits by Claude Less

Program

Following in the footsteps of George Sand, you can start by visiting Nohant, the house where Chopin composed more than half of his work and where the author enjoyed entering her friends Balzac, Flaubert, Liszt and Delacroix. Follow that with other places connected with the author such as the La Châtre Museum, the Castles of Ars and Sarzay and the mill at Angibault.
You could, of course, choose to do nothing but relax in the park, by the side of the pool or by a wood-burning fire listening to the music of Chopin.
